BBB 2020 - 28th - 31st August - CANCELLED !

Howdy!

Sad news about the Big Bike Bash 2020 - From the Action Academy Trustees. We have regretfully come to the conclusion that we cannot safely hold this year's Big Bike Bash event, The UK's largest and best-known family mountain bike festival. The BBB team had hoped that it would be possible to hold the much-loved festival this summer for the competitors, sponsors, trade and volunteers who come together to make it a success. However, despite the encouraging progress that is being made towards the UK's recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, it's clear that running a large event this coming August will not be possible while sufficiently protecting the health and safety of all those involved. As a charity we support the work of Avon Tyrrell and UK Youth. The cancellation of the 2020 BBB will have a huge impact on our ability to support this cause this year. We are asking, if you can, please make a donation here at our Paypal donation page and we will use all of your donation to continue to fund projects that assist young people to achieve their full potential. Robin Knight, charity chairman and BBB head honcho wept into his cider as he proclaimed.... "I know that this will be a huge disappointment to the many who were lucky enough to purchase tickets before a record breaking sell-out, as indeed it is to us, the team of volunteers who have worked tirelessly to deliver the BBB for each of the last 13 years. We waited for as long as we realistically could to see how the situation might develop, on the basis that our participants and supporters would want us to run the BBB if it were possible. We appreciate the patience that everybody has shown while we have worked through different scenarios and would like to thank the volunteers who have been on stand-by and the sponsors, traders, suppliers and bands who committed to the BBB at such a difficult time. We will continue to support our host venue, Avon Tyrrell and the work of UK Youth as best we can at this difficult time." 2020 ticket holders will receive the option to purchase a 2021 (27th - 30th August 2021) ticket in advance of the general release once we finalise details for the event. The entire BBB team wishes you a safe and healthy remainder to 2020 and we look forward to welcoming you to the 2021 Big Bike Bash.

Ticket Prices

The Big Bike Bash is organised and run entirely by unpaid volunteers solely to raise funds for UK Youth / Avon Tyrrell. Following the 2018 event UK Youth / Avon Tyrrell will receive over £20,000 which brings the total in the eleven years of the Big Bike Bash to over £140,000. Most notably in 2018 we paid for and sourced over 30 replacement bikes for use by people visiting the centre. Although our costs continue to edge upwards we are holding the same ticket prices for this year and look forward with your help to making another healthy contribution to this outstanding charity for young people. If you want to make your own donation to UK Youth you can do that here: www.ukyouth.org/donate
